Władysław Bartoszewski – FOUNDER
Former prisoner of the Auschwitz camp, co-founder of the Żegota Jewish Aid Council. soldier of the Home Army, participant of the Warsaw Uprising. Chairman of the International Auschwitz Council and the Council for the Protection of Memory of Combat and Martyrdom, two-time Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Government’s Plenipotentiary for International Dialogue. The founder of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation.
With sadness we received information that Professor Władysław Bartoszewski died on 24 April 2015.

Historian. Doctor of humanities. Director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. Member of the International Auschwitz Council, and its secretary from 2000-2006. Member of many councils and forums dealing with memory about the camps and the victims of the Third Reich. Co-founder of the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. Co-founder and the president of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation.
Jacek Kastelaniec
Graduate of University of Warsaw and of the University of Montpellier. For many years he was active in non-governmental organizations working to promote democracy and to promote political change in Eastern Europe. Co-founder of Free Ukraine and Free Belarus initiatives. Co-founder of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, for many years its General Director.
